Journey through Rwanda and Uganda’s most scenic parks, including Volcanoes and Bwindi or Mgahinga, while enjoying cultural encounters, tranquil lakeside views, and guided treks into the wild.

Journey through Rwanda and Uganda’s most scenic parks, including Volcanoes and Bwindi or Mgahinga, while enjoying cultural encounters, tranquil lakeside views, and guided treks into the wild.
Begin early with a transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters for a safety briefing. Embark on a guided golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll spend an hour observing these lively and rare primates. After the trek, visit the Gorilla Guardian Village to engage in local cultural traditions including dance, music, and crafts. Continue to the Gorilla Museum to learn about the conservation legacy of mountain gorillas. Later, cross the border into Uganda and head to your lodge near Bwindi/Mgahinga. Overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the ranger station for a pre-trek briefing. Then set off into the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family, guided by expert trackers. Spend one hour in their presence, observing their behaviors from a safe distance of 10 meters. Following this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, drive to Lake Bunyonyi—one of Uganda’s most picturesque lakes. Unwind amid serene views and birdlife. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp or similar.
Start your morning with a peaceful lakeside breakfast. After check-out, enjoy a scenic drive through the highlands of southwestern Uganda back to Kigali, Rwanda. Your guide will drop you at your hotel or Kigali International Airport in time for your departure, marking the end of your primate trekking adventure.
